Vast regions of India are de-linked from the main grid supply, which ensures that are dependent on DG’s (Diesel generators) primarily to meet their energy requirements, and hence a major portion of the telecom industry is forced to utilize DG’s for their need. DG’s are not only in-efficient they are noisy, expensive and polluting. They are also a big source of pilferage in the industry.
